Square Dance with Bob Bovee, Pop Wagner, and Anni Spring @ Historic Forestville

Bring your dancing shoes to Historic Forestville for a square dance in the recently preserved Meighen Horse Barn.

The large barn at Historic Forestville was built in 1894, and at the time, was the largest building in Fillmore County.

Music will be provided by Bob Bovee & Pop Wagner with Anni Spring calling the dance steps. Food and beverage will be available.

$8-10/MNHS members free

The Civil War at Historic Forestville

Join Harley Davis as 1st Lieutenant Henry S. Bassett of Co. K, 6th Minnesota. Learn about the company’s actions in the US-Dakota War of 1862, as well as when they went south into the larger war between the states.

View the typical uniform and equipment of an enlisted soldier. Several Civil War soldiers that had an impact on Forestville will also be highlighted and Civil War era drums original to Historic Forestville will be back on site for viewing.
