Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to present “Origin”, a short film by Catherine Glynn and Liz Bucheit exploring family history, cultural identity, Norwegian mythology, and the price one pays to outrun misfortune. “Origin” will premiere on Friday, March 31 at 7 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre in downtown Lanesboro. It runs 25 minutes. The showing will be immediately followed by a talkback session with the film’s creators, performing artist Catherine Glynn and artisan goldsmith Liz Bucheit.

stories and their similarities to a number of child-murders that are happening in his town. As he

faces execution, the writer comes to terms with the stark difference between law and justice.

not being dead, it’s about what you leave behind.”

NOTE: This darkly comic dystopian tale includes profanity, bigoted language, and intense

Lanesboro Community Theater presents A Murder Has Been Renounced, a mystery comedy play. A couple's car breaks down on a dark and stormy night. A nearby estate offers shelter and an oddball group of guests all behaving very strangely. The phone lines are down and a necklace is stolen, shots are fired, a guest is strangled. You know, the usual fare. 

Root River Inn & Suites will be showing 1920's black and white films on the half hour from 7-9pm in Bluff Country Hall. These will setup in Open House style, so come and go as you wish. These are the “silent” films of the 1920’s era that will get you in the early Hollywood glamour mood which is the theme for Lanesboro’s 2022 NYE celebrations. Come up the historic stairs from main street to the entrance on the 2nd floor.

Come be part of the Christmas party and solve this interactive who-dun-it. Wit's End, from Chatfield, MN, is partnering with Root River 102, to host this "family" get-together that starts with an untimely murder. Enjoy some provided "pot-luck" style shar-eables while you try to figure out what happened.
