Lanesboro puts together an annual festival as an ode to Buffalo Bill Cody who visited Lanesboro and his friend White Beaver in the late 1800’s. While here, they got the idea to start his Wild West shows and it is said put of the first of them, right here in town. Buffalo Bill Days consists of booths, softball and sand volleyball tournaments, a street dance, fireworks, and a fantastic Sunday parade.

From bluesy tunes and classic rhythm and blues that are as catchy as they are infectious, to deep roots that will have you stomping along., to neo-soul and modern singer song-writer tunes that welcome you to sit back, soaking it in. There are classics from the likes of CCR, Stevie Wonder and ZZ Top, as well as lesser know, but rich tunes by artists like Leon Bridges, Amos Lee and Moreland & Arbuckle.
This year marks 30 years for the Lanesboro Art Gallery – now a part of Lanesboro Arts. In the 1990s, the Cornucopia Gallery began showing artwork from the regions many talented creators. Later, that effort would evolve into the present-day galleries at Lanesboro Arts. Over the last three decades, hundreds of artists have shown their work in solo and group shows in the Exhibition Gallery or sold their pieces in the Sales Gallery.

Paul Schmidt (Schmidt Farm) is an organic farmer that lives on the east edge of Forestville. Ryan Palmer is the owner of the Root River Inn and Suites in Lanesboro. Jeff Sanders is the owner/operator of Bluffscape Amish Tours in Lanesboro. The three met at an open mic in Lanesboro in 2021 and all share the same passion for creating good, local music and supporting local endeavors.

Rooted in an acoustic sound, this duo puts out soulful vocals & a sound that pulls the audience into their performance.
The Minnesota State Legislature recognized Lanesboro as the Rhubarb Capital of Minnesota by proclamation in 2008.
The heart of the festival takes place in Sylvan Park in downtown Lanesboro. Start by browsing the Lanesboro Farmers Market where you'll find all the in-season spring vegetables and other local delights. Then enjoy the fun-filled festival entertainment and food, plus try your hand at the free rhubarb games and contests. Great prizes for all events! Stay in town and check out our local merchants, and all the town has to offer.
Other free entertainment includes a rhubarb fashion show (you can be in it),goat chill out , and Rhub-Art opportunities. Music fills the park the entire day so bring your lawn chair and enjoy it all! This year music is provided by a variety of local rhubarb-lovin' musicians.
Vendors provide opportunities to purchase additional rhubarb treats and products.
The Bluff Country Gathering is a four-day event presenting traditional American music, dance and singing styles. A concert on Friday night at the Lanesboro Community Center features all the staff musicians.

Workshops, conducted by a staff of nationally acclaimed musicians, singers, dancers and folklorists, are designed to pass along the traditions of old-time music to participants at all levels of experience.
Come and play a variety of games for a chance to win free drinks, Noon-8:00pm. Certain rules do apply. Also there is an Open Jam Session for local music artists upstairs from 5pm-7pm most Sundays.

“Movies and Stories from Pop-up Plays: WW 2 in Norway, the Home View” Thursday, April 6, 7 p.m. Sons of Norway Lodge, 200 South Parkway, Lanesboro. Free and open to public. Lanesboro’s close ties to Norway brought a special interest in how it fared in WW 2 during the German occupation. Whether you missed the History Alive 2021 show “WW 2 and Beyond” or just want to see it again, come see two scenes on Norway on WW II. Fascinating background stories from our writer and director, Jane Peck. Bring your own stories about Norway and WW II to share! Presented with operating funds from S.E. MN Arts Council with funds from Minnesota State Legacy Fund.

Almost every band member sings lead at some point, delivering a unique blend of songs and styles to the stage. Guest musicians often join in for extra entertainment.
Craving more live music in Lanesboro? We've got you covered! On October 8th, Lanesboro Arts presents singer-songwriter Laura Lamb live at the St. Mane. Laura Lamb was born and raised in Minnesota, but honed her craft in Nashville. She is known for her smooth and melancholy voice, which MSP Magazine says was "made for live music" The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets will be $15 if you purchase them online in advance, and $20 dollars at the door.
